Questions and answers
The ones we get most often, answered without hedging.
Will I definitely get a loan?
No, and anyone promising otherwise is lying. Mongeza puts your request in front of lenders who are likely to consider it. The decision is theirs, and paying the subscription does not bind them to anything.
My credit history is poor. Is it worth trying?
Usually yes. A damaged file removes some partners from the shortlist rather than all of them. What tends to end a request is an open default that is still unresolved.
I have no salary certificate. Does that block me?
Not by itself. Several partners assess self-employed and informally employed applicants on other signals. The shortlist you see already accounts for that.
Why do you need my card details?
To take the subscription payment for the matching service, and because most partners pay out to a card. A verification charge of 1 AED is made first, then the subscription of 35 AED for 30 days.
What exactly am I paying for?
The matching itself: your account, the analysis of your request, the personalised shortlist, the routing to lenders and the notifications. The full breakdown is in the tariffs document.
Will the charge be split?
It may be. Card issuers decline large single charges more often than small ones, so the amount can arrive as 23 AED and 12 AED. The total is always 35 AED and never more.
How do I cancel?
Open the cancellation page, enter the email you signed up with and confirm. The subscription stops there and then; no further charges are made.
Can I get a refund?
You can ask within 14 days days of the charge. The grounds, the information to include and the deadlines are set out in the refund rules.
